Composition:

Each tablet of Afert tablets (Terbinafine) comprises 125mg of Terbinafine Hydrochloride USP, a potent antifungal agent that specifically targets dermatophytes, offering relief for nail and skin infections caused by fungi.

Clinical Pharmacology:

Afert tablets disrupts fungal sterol biosynthesis, leading to ergosterol depletion and subsequent cell death. It is excellently absorbed, distributed, and excreted, concentrating effectively in the skin and nails, providing optimal antifungal activity against dermatophytes.

Afert tablets Indications and Usage:

Recommended for treating ringworm, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis, and onychomycosis in adults when topical therapy is inadequate. Afert’s oral administration ensures effective management of various fungal infections.

Interactions and Precautions:

Close monitoring is necessary when co-administering with drugs affecting cytochrome P450. Patients with preexisting psoriasis or lupus erythematosus should use Afert cautiously due to the potential exacerbation. Its use is not advisable in severe, chronic, or active hepatic diseases.

Dosage and Administration:

Strictly adhere to the prescribed dosage for tinea pedis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, and dermatophyte nail infections as directed by the physician. Proper storage at 20 °C-30 °C is essential to maintain tablet efficacy by protecting them from light and moisture.
